Flower Power Nails

Hey Everyone!
Today I decided I would try this look out & here's what it turned out like:

I loved the way they turned out. They're so cute!
Here is what I used & how I did it:

  • First, I applied Orly's Rubberized Basecoat to help my polish adhere better to my nails.

  • Next, I used Sinful Colors Feeling Great Nail Polish on my nails.

  • Then, with my dotting tool & my L.A. Art Deco Nail Polishes in Black & White, I put 5 dots in a circle with one color, then with another color, I put 1 dot in the center, making a flower.

  • And I just placed random flowers all over my nail.

  • Finally, I applied Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat to my nails.
Try this out for yourself! You can use any colors for this look.
I hope you enjoyed it! Thanks for reading!

Purple and White Nails

Hey Everyone!
A few days ago I painted my nails like this:

It's a little messy, but I thought that it turned out ok.
Here's what I used & how I did it:

  • First I applied Orly's Rubberized Basecoat to help my polish stay longer.

  • Then, I painted my nails using Ulta Nail Lacquer in Celebutante.

  • Next, I painted half of my nail with Sinful Colors Nail Polish in Snow Me White.

  • Then, using L.A. Colors Art Deco Nail Polish in black, I put dots on the line between the white & the purple using my dotting tool.

  • Finally, I applied my Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat.
Try it out for yourself if you want. You can use whatever colors you would like to.
 Hope you enjoyed!

Looking for a New Purse....

Purses! Purses! Purses!

So I have been looking for a new purse for quite some time now, but it seems that I just can't find the "right" one for me. I haven't bought a purse in so long. && I need to buy one! Haha. I really do. It's not that I just wanna buy one, I need a new one. But I can't figure out if I want to invest a lot of money in one or not.

I would love to be able to buy this ^^^ adorable Dooney & Bourke purse, but they are expensive. I would also like to have a Coach purse, but they as well are way out of my price range. Hmmm..... I guess I will just have to keep searching for the purse that I want.

Does anyone have any ideas about where I can find a nice, cute, affordable purse at? If you do, then please comment below.

Thanks for reading!!

Round Lip Balm?

Hey Everyone!
I hope that you all have been having a great day & week. The weekend is almost here. Yay! I went to school today, then I had to go pick up a few things, so I just thought I'd share that with you.

Here's a few things that I picked up today.

Since I was already out & about today, I decided to go ahead & go to Belk to pick up some things that I was almost out of. I had to pick up Clinique's Rinse Off Foaming Cleanser & Clinique's Liquid Facial Soap. They are a very necessary part in my daily skin care routine.

I also wanted to go to Ulta. I went there to get the Urban Decay Naked Palette, but unfortunately they didn't have it. I've went there for the past several weeks wanting to get it, & everytime I go, they don't have it. I will probably just end up ordering it online.

I did pick up BareMinerals Mineral Veil. I've heard great things about it & I've been wanting to try it, so I figured since I wasn't going to get the Urban Decay Palette, that I would go ahead & get it. Maybe I will do a review on it after I've used it a while.

I also picked up something else that I've been wanting & that's the EOS Lip Balms. Everyone talks about them & I've been looking for them everywhere. None of my drugstores had them. So when I was walking to check out, Ulta has this shelf with like mini products & chapsticks & stuff, well there they were. I bought 2 of them. They were around $3 each. I got the flavors in Lemon Drop & I believe the other one is Kiwi. They smell just like you could eat them.

[Here is what they look like.]

I just thought I would share that with you. If you have any questions about any of the products, or want a review on any of them, don't hesitate to ask.

Thanks for reading!

A Few of My Favorite Things

I just thought I'd show you a few of my favorite things.

Maltipoo Puppies- I am in love with these dogs. I don't own one myself, but I want to one day. I can't wait to get one.

High Heels- I love wearing high heels. I wear them all the time to church, to formal events, etc. They are so classy and fun, and add a pop to every outfit.

Polka Dots- Polka dots are my favorite. I put them on everything, draw them on anything, and even paint polka dots on my nails. I think they are so cute and fun.
Sunglasses- I love big sunglasses. I can't go anywhere without them! They protect my eyes from the sun and they are adorable and fashionable.

So those are a few of my favorite things. Hope you enjoyed!

Name Change

Hey Everyone.
I know I have changed the name to this blog twice already, but now the name is set in stone. I thought I wanted to make this blog just about beauty; however, I later decided that I wanted my blog to be about everything, including fashion, beauty, me rambling, things that go on in my everyday life, etc. So I hope that this doesn't affect anything. Thank you to those that support me by following!!

Sincerely,
Amelia

Thoughts on School...

Hi Everyone!

So today I thought I would tell you what I'm going to school for, my thoughts on it, & other things about school.

Right now I am going to school for Cosmetology. I am attending a technical college in a small town. Currently, I am taking all of my core classes. I have to take 4 core courses for Cosmetology. They inlcude: English 101, Math 101, EMP 1000, and SCT 100. EMP 1000 is Interpersonal Relations and SCT 100 is Introduction to Microcomputers. Unfortunately, I am having to take English 1101, which is more difficult than English 101. The reason I had to take that class is because, English 101 was full, and I tested into English 1101 on my COMPASS Test, so I decided to just go ahead and take the English 1101 class. If I would have waited to take English 101, I wouldn't have been able to get into Cosmetology classes until Fall of 2011. And I did not want to wait that long. I am taking Math 101 at school & the other 3 I am taking online. The online classes do save a lot of time; however, I do have to discipline myself in order to get all of my online stuff done.

So my thoughts on school so far....
Well I honestly don't see the point in having to take an English class for Cosmetology, especially the one that I'm in. The English I'm in is all papers. It's paper after paper, after paper. You catch my drift. In highschool, writing papers was pretty easy because you had an ample amount of time to get it done in. In this class, you have like 5-6 days to complete a paper. The time limit I guess is what stresses me out the most.

Thankfully this quarter & this portion of school is almost over. At the end of September, I will begin the Cosmetology part of school. I can't wait! I'm going to be sharing everything I learn with you all. Then, I will be in school 5 days a week. Monday-Thursday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. & on Fridays from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. So it will be taking up a good part of my time, but I will find time to blog after school and of course on the weekends.
So I just thought I would share that little bit of information with you.

If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask me.
Hope you all enjoyed. Thank you all for reading!!

Happy Monday!!

Happy Monday Everyone!
I just wanted to wish everyone a very happy Monday. I know that Mondays are hard, they are for me anyways. I picked up the first 3 books of the Pretty Little Liars series. They were buy 2, get 1 free at Books-A-Million. I started the first one today & so far it's really good. I did watch the Pretty Little Liars on ABC Family & I loved it. Too bad the season had to end though. I can't wait for Season 2, which comes out in 2011 I think.

What I picked up today:

I hope everyone has a great week. Thanks for reading!!

Clinique 3-Step Skin Care System

Hey Everyone!
I thought my first review should be over something that I use everyday, & that is Clinique's 3-Step Skin Care System. I have been using this skin care line for about a year now, and I absolutely love it! It's amazing and pretty affordable compared to other brands out there.
Liquid Facial Soap: This is the first step that you do in the system. You cleanse your face with the facial soap and it prepares your face for the next steps. You squirt about 2 pumps into your hand & rub your hands together & it will create a foam that you rub onto your face. Based on what type of skin you have, you will either get an oily skin formula or a dry skin formula. Since my skin is oily, I use the one for oily skin. It makes your skin feel so soft.
Retails for: $15.00

Clarifying Lotion: This is what you use next. You pour a little on a cotton ball & rub it all over your face. The type of skin you have determines the number of clarifying lotion you need. There is 4 types. Since my skin is oilier, I used number 3. The two lower numbers are for dryer skin types. This makes your skin feel clean & refreshed. It also eliminates redness and helps with acne.
Retails: anywhere from $11.50 - $20.00 depending on the size

Dramatically Different Moisturizure: This is the last step in the 3-step system. It comes in 2 different formulas, a gel & a lotion. The gel is for oily skin & the lotion is for dry skin. I use the gel and it is amazing. It moisturizes your skin without being heavy or greasy. It gives you just enough moisture. Use about 2 pumps and rub into your face.
Retails: anywhere from $12.00 - $24.00 depending on the size.

As I said before, this system is very good for your skin. It is available for all skin types. It is affordable and the products are big so they last you a while. I have really noticed a difference in my skin since I started using this. I have always had acne, & this really helps to control it.

Thanks so much for reading!!
